Friends are the family we choose!
There are so many beautiful things in this world that bring us joy and allow us to be our true selves. We have to allow ourselves to get quiet, get out of your own way, and mindfully take in the moments. Hang in there you will see where I’m going with this. There was a day not too long ago that I was running all morning from one thing to the next. You all know those days! I was about to cancel a lunch with a friend, because I felt like I had too much to do. I did not cancel, I went to that lunch and I was so glad I did. This friend, who has a lot of responsibilities in their work world, had to take care of a couple items before we headed to lunch. As I waited my anxiety heightened a little and all of a sudden out of know where I let out a deep breath. That deep breath made me giggle to myself and a smile went across my face. There it was, “a moment” knowing I was going to spend time with an amazingly good friend that always brings the calm out of me.
This is not new information for all of you, but a reminder for all of you to take in! The amazing friends we choose to surround ourselves with are our earth angels that keep us full joy. I love the saying, “friends are the family we choose”. Friends allow us to be our true selves, no matter what that means to each of us. Personally, I can come across a little awkward, out there, and my heart is on my sleeve. My friends that know me get that’s who I am and don’t judge me for being a little awkward and out there. These amazing friends roll with all the weird and goofy moments I put out there with smiles on their faces. OOOOO and with that, I can never get or give enough hugs, because we all know that “HUGS were invented to let our friends know that they matter to us and we love them without having to say anything”. Never miss a moment to give tight hugs that take someone’s breath away.
As I have mentioned in the past, I am a huge self-development junkie. I absorb all kinds of information and love to put it out in the universe for others to take in and be their best selves. The same is from my friends, I love to learn from them they are all these different packages of wisdom and insights. We do not have to agree on everything, we just have to listen and get to know one another’s souls. I was talking to a friend one day when they all of a sudden stopped in mid-sentence and said, “I have been going on and on answering all your questions about me, I want to know what is going on with you”. I was like “oh”, there it was me trying to suck the knowledge out of this soulful friend, quietly listening, and taking in their wisdom. I tend to be a little more reserved with my personal on goings but will answer anything anyone asks me. Although, I often turn the conversation back on the amazingly soulful friend that I’m talking to. I am working on not doing this so much, after all I am a strong believer we are all a work in progress in our lives and soulful friendships are treasures to never be taken for granted.
Life is a Journey my Friends, make it what you want it to be!
